.. Broken Pipes, link

Post by janelle on Sun 31 Aug - 9:38:46

For those who no longer visit BDF, I thought I would post this link.
This picture and how it happened, is enough to make even a drummer cry or murder, or both.
The first and last page tell the story. The rest is the usual stuff.

One poster said it was a "clean break"...I hope he isnae a joiner!!!!!

How come they "meshed together" before someone in charge (PM or DM) couldn't bring the band to a "mark time"?

Sorry for the pipers drones but yucky broon stuff happens.
Order a new top section of drone, tape together the broken drone and continue playing with two drones.

Feel sorry for the guy whose pipes were ruined, they will never be the same, unless he can pick up a Lawrie top section

But I'll tell you what, there is no way that damage was done by a Tenor or Bass stick,

Either there was a pre-existing fault, which should have showed up a long time ago to any piper with ears that actually work

He can tell what he likes to the insurance company, but my money says that they were stood on, and by a BFB at that

Cheers

The stick wasn't the Highland Tenor sticks, but the type used by brass bands. They have very hard head and longer shafts. If used with force could do some damage.
I agree with Stormy though. Why didn't they wait for the others to get out of the way, instead of marching through. Even so, I still think it's a shame the pipes were damaged.
