Rumour control has it that at Cowal this year, the results will start with grade 1
and that the first band down the street will be the grade 1 winners
Has anyone heard similar?

G2 bands were doing the "centre bands" pre 1994. It gave the "big boys" a chance to nip off for a piddle!!!

By tradition Glasgow / Strathclyde were the last band to march down the road. I was always rather pissed off come 2130hrs!!! (Particularly when we competed in No.1 Gear). Sod the punters, I just wanted to get hame!!!

Yeah that sounds about right. We have been "ordered" that we are to play down the street and if to do that it will be midnight before I get back to Kilmarnock and the majority of the band will be staying in Dunoon.

Re: Cowal Prize giving
It was nearly half 9 when we got down the street last year, and were 1 from last,
It is a pain in the arse, and is why a lot of grade 1 bands don't do it.
If, and its a big If, the lower grade bands went straight down, it would work okay, but all bands stop to tune, and it causes a knock on effect
I remember a couple of years in the late '80's when we just went to the beer tent for an hour or so, and then went down the street unimpeded, SPPB did the same thing, worked very well
Won't worry me this year tho', I'm offski as soon as we play,
Cheers
