McCallum solo chanter.
Just watched a clip on STV done by Stuart himself regarding this chanter.
Now he made a very interesting comment ( IMO ) reference the pitch. He stated Willie requested that the pitch be brought back slightly. Willie since has won several top notch solo contests playing this chanter.
The remark about the pitch caught my ear as he goes on to say " Some bands are would be interested in this chanter also, so it's not solely a solo chanter " ( or words to that effect )
This made me sit up 'n think,--------Stormy, Richard,Gordy 'n I all agree that ATM the pitch has/is at it's peak.
Could we see a redress reference bands pitch if and when this chanter is used.
Stuart also commented on the clarity and harmonics this pitched chanter gives at the slightly flatter ( Oooops did I say flatter ? ) pitch.
There are a few clips of Willie playing the chanter too, 12+ pipers with this sound would be something else.
Wat y'all think?.

Re: McCallum solo chanter.
yeah totally agree , when you get G4 bands talking about pitching 481 because the 'Judges' are looking for this kind of sound i think we have gone too far ,
On the MC2 i have one in my pipe just now for solo work , nice sound from it
My only problem with having it as a band chanter would be we would need to ban all Duncans from the band !!!! i.e Duncan the Gouger !!!!

Just a wee after thought.....STV's coverage/soundclips and video clips seem to be of a far better quality than the BBC....STV da host the worlds?????????????
