Christmas break..........
..........do you dread goin' back to band nights knowing full well all the progress prior will be undone?, I do. Most frustrating this Xmas crap, just when things are goin' good...........BANG a two week lay off.
The progress will be knocked back by at least a month ( imo ), can say fer sure there'll be noone sitting wi their PC on Christmas holidays.( only me honest), one good thing is that the tunes were learnt, so it's just getting 'em on the floor.
Does ma head in.
What about your downside of the winter break regarding the band?.

Re: Christmas break..........
Good point Richard about the pipe care, those of us who have got wee gigs over the holiday period will always be on top of the instrument, but as you say there will be those who'll turn up wi instruments in crap nick.
This is another pet hate a mine. 9 times outa 10 yill need to do it yerself, 'n then yill get the doh look....................aye, that's better lol.
Just as a said before, at least the tunes are learnt. There's one thing I do insist on tho......after the break we must hit the floor, even if it means some need the music laid on the table.........pipe around the table wi the music fer them that need it.
Pipe practise on new material is more beneficial than more PC work imo.
Am buzzin', just can't wait either way. Plus the fact Harry has a seta pipes fer me to try........Mmmmm, could be doin' wi 'em now da gimmie somethin' da do rather than sup Carlsberg all day... .........naw, disregard that last comment, am half pissed the noo. Well the 'Pool did thrash the geordie's 5-1.

Re: Christmas break..........
Thats were a bit of 'Nous' comes in,
As you rightly say, its too easy to knock off over Xmas, but you are going to be on pipes in January, especially as its an early start this season,
As you know, I keep my pipes right all year round doing gigs etc, but even now, Ii have had an hour on the PC. Getting harder and harder to keep the hands right these days!
The reason is simple, next Monday night, Ballycoan are on pipes, and you can be sure that some clowns pipes will be in $hit state,
It won't be mine, but I will be quite happy to give them a major slaggin'
Seems a long way off, but its less that 20 weeks till the Dungannon competition, thats less tha 40 practises,

Not worry me, I was booked for a wedding about a year ago for that date,
Dont worry about instruments, uniforms, or performances, as long a s the association get their money in and a free feed and bevvy.
