Spirit of Scotland Pipe Band Empty Spirit of Scotland Pipe Band

The new Spirit of Scotland Pipe Band sponsored by Glenfiddich has received news from the RSPBA that it is to be graded as grade 1. The band will only perform at the World Pipe Band Championships in 2008. The Pipe Major of the band, Roddy MacLeod said he was delighted with the news and was looking forward to the challenge.

Is this the band of soloists that was mentioned in P and D a few months ago? Gillies etc?

Will certainly be interesting to hear if so,

Lets just hope that names and sponsorship don't translate into a qualification for the final,

Or am I being cynical again??

I spoke with a colleague earlier today, his brother is one of the pipers in the new band....

According to him, practices are few and far between.
