SPPB website.
Went to the Strathclyde Police Pipe Band website to get some info and guess what, it has been removed!
The message "This domain name has been reserved for future use" appears!!
Time the "House" and adjoining properties were demolished.

I'm not saying it isnt the boss at work, but remember that their webmaster "resigned" (wtf??? why is he getting all of this fecking coverage?? Wow! A drummer resigns! Get feckin over it! ) recently..... so maybe he's stopped doing the site too

This is how Chinese whispers and speculation grows Robbie. Give the guy a break there is a lot happening behind closed doors that you and the general public aren't made aware of and its not my place to say... so respect the guys in the band and if you don't know the ins and outs of a situation best to keep yer mouth shut. The guys are going through enough s**t as it is. I'm not just saying this just in passing but I have a few friends in Strathclyde and Scott being one of them. So try and show some support for the guys.

Robbie m8, a don't know if that's one of your wind up's m8.
The guys are right. There are things that are better kept hussh, if certain things reached public domain the band / members would be in the shoite, because only band members would know and the powers that be would know it's came internally.
Yes Scott was the webmaster, there are countless rumours flying around about how 'n why he left.
They are exactly that, support the Strathclyde Police, don't fan the flames.
There is one rumour going around ATM, which is true..........Robbie has added to his bootin's.....

Re: SPPB website.
Yeah he is a copper Rich. He is having a load of yucky broon stuff just now. I along with Peter heard the story the Thursday he left before it became public from Scott. The Pipe Band World can be an evil place and its only right to let the individuals involved say there side to the story if they see it to be necessary.

Re: SPPB website.
I dont know the full story, and until it is made public respect those involved and their rights.
Unfortunately where there is a sniff of anything out of the ordinary (not just in the Pipe band World) you will always get those who jump on the bandwagon(I talk from experience?) Someone hears a snippet and before you know it all hell is running loose, it hs been the same since time began. people love to see others get knocked down for some reason. As has been said wait till it is open to all(if ever) other than that say nowt

Re: SPPB website.
Okay, you guys know my feeling on scott currie. To me, he's just someone whose rode on the back of kilpatricks + tyfry's success when he was in shotts. I also dont like the media he seems to be getting regarding the polis - BUT that is ONE person that i do not support in the band. BUT i will support the BAND. You guys know that i will speak what i think, no matter how stupid, wrong or just bad timed it is. That's me, and i wont change for anyone!
I agree that there is more to his "resigning" than meets the eye, and i will discuss it no further. BUT if ANYONE looks at my past posts on any forum, they will see that i have never been a "fan" of the guy. I'm not going to change that just because he was in a band that is in dire trouble. I'm sorry if you guys dont agree, but so be it. I would never speak about anyone else in the band in that way, i only did so about scott because many people know my feelings towards him, and anyone can find them out by looking at past posts!
Okay.. that's me done... agree or disagree... it's what i think!

My original post was about the bands website no longer being "on line"!!!!!
If the person looking after the website has left then surely someone else can take over?

Re: SPPB website.
I’m not prepared to get into an argument with you Robbie. But if you knew Scott you would know he is a decent and very talented individual. As you know it was Scott who helped me get to where I am playing at the top of my game. He has taught me a lot in my playing career. Maybe you should get your facts right first!! Do you know Scott personally to speak to him in such a way? If not how can you say he is riding on the back of Kilpatrick and ty fry’s success. Well here is some facts for you… Scott Currie was the founder of tenordrummer.com in 2001 a very successful internet site… It soon became a recognised brand for bass and tenor drummers, helped build up a bass for solo competition in the UK and bringing a great worlds week workshop known as back to bassics. It was this website which helped Ty Fry get known across the pond. Scott joined Shotts in 1989 and had been playing with them right up to 2002. In that time he has won every major RSPBA Pipe Band and Drum Corps championship. Winning the World Championships 3 times with 9 world drum corp championships under his belt. A career development oportunity meant his move to Strathclyde in 2002 where he helped the bass section win at major championships. He has always had a soft spot for Shotts so moved back there in 2004. He is also a very accomplished bass drummer playing in grade 1 so I think all this alone speaks volumes Robbie. Maybe you should look at these guys and learn from them.
I respect Tyler to and he has had a very respectable career also. However he only has half the championship wins to add to his name having joined Shotts in 2004. So how did Scott ride on Ty Fry's success when he was in Shotts? Nonsence.
I applaud the guys for what they have and achieve in the future. Its not easy playing in the top grade a lot of time and effort goes in and juggling a judging, teaching and playing career I can tell you on a personal note is not easy. So learn from them... they could teach you a thing or two.
There are a lot of tenor drummers out there who are really good, Stevie McQuillan, Norman MacLeod, Andrew Elliot, Michael O'Neill. I am beginning to be a respected judge, tutor and player. The difference with the names mentioned above is we don't strive for the media andthing we gain from playing is for fun and to promote the cause difference with Scott and Tyler is its a career for them. They run to well established businesses scdrumming and TyFry so look for the attention. Its the same with any market place. So Robbie that's your lesson for the day... If you still have no time for the guy then that's up to you. Like I said I'm not going to argue with you.

Re: SPPB website.
aye, am interested. A want to know if the server side coding is either been encrypted with an html code or if maybe the php side has been used. I would also like to know what the bit rate of the picture download limit is, along with the iconic development rate of the html structure. Along side this, can you also tell me what the server retreve code is. If you can find out that, please also find me out what the cpanel model is and then come back and tell me.stormy wrote:RIGHT YOU LOT - ANYONE INTERESTED IN THE FACT THAT THERE IS NO LONGER AN SPPB WEBSITE?????
If you then have time, pleas etell me what the header marks are, whether or not it is w3c complaint and whetgher or not the dynamic linkage is either done via server or coding.
k?
