Re: Moisture control systems
at present using the tube that comes with the bag, tried the competition to the ross bag in it for a bit but it was really poor very restrictive. Think I am going to order the ross guts and tinker for a bit or maybe a watertrap. not playing with a band seriously this year going to have a crack at solo's so have time to get setup as I want it. Cheers for the info though

Redneck wrote:@Bondy, what you could do is go back to your Ross system, remove the hose to the chanter and this will let some of the moisture back into your chanter reed, after playing remove the chanter to the chanter stock 'n let it dry out naturally as before.
@Gordy, maybe you could step in here m8, this is how your band's set up is is it not. You could elaborate more than me here as our system is fully hosed up, IMO I'd personally go for the latter, but it seems da work for us........so if it ain't broke ect',.
No Bother Guys,
I'll do a post for Piping Connections later today

Re: Moisture control systems
I have the ross system. I don't use the hose to the chanter. Instead I have hemped in an elbow joint that connects to the stock of the blow stick. That way you can move it around depending on the weather you are piping in. If you need more moisture you can direct it to the chanter. If you don't need any moisture you can direct it to the back of the bag.
The thing I don't like about the ross system ist he kitty litter. I hate the dust. Does anyone use something else in the canister?

It's not that big a deal. I'm just on the lazy side and don[t like to take the extra 5 seconds to blow out the dust.

Get into the habit of blowing it out at every change,
That dust sits thicker and thicker on the blade of the reed, would be a shame to miss the intro at the worlds because of it,
