Starbucks Coffee
This came to me via email, I assume it will do the rounds as other things do,
And being a coffee addict, i doubt i'll trouble Starbucks with my custom again.
On a personal note, I agree with them, IMO the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan are very wrong, Our troops having to pay the butchers bill for others to make money on oil and gas etc, and to furnish G dubya's imperial ambition is disgusting,
BUT right or wrong, you support the men on the ground, they are probably as against it as most other people are.
Subject: Who likes Starbucks coffee??

STRANGE WORLD!!
Recently, British Royal Marines in Iraq wrote to Starbucks because
they wanted to let them know how much they liked their coffees, and to
request that they send some of it to the troops there.
Starbucks replied, telling the Royal Marines thank you for their
support of their business, but that Starbucks does not support the
war, nor anyone in it, and that they would not send the troops their
brand of coffee.
So as not to offend Starbucks, maybe we should support them by NOT
buying any of their products!
I feel we should get this out in the open. I know this war might not
be very popular with some folks, but that doesn't mean we don't
support the boys on the ground, fighting street-to-street and,
house-to-house.
If you feel the same as I do then pass this along.
Thanks very much for your support. I know you'll all be there again
when I deploy once more.

Re: Starbucks Coffee
If you can believe snopes.com, this e-mail started on mis-information back in 2004, originally it involved US Marines but later changed to Royal Marines. Appears the original author got his facts wrong, and even sent out an apolgy email, but the legend lives on....

Here's the Snopes link.....

According to Snopes, Starbucks would have denied the request if it had been made, but because of their donations policy, not their opinion of the war.
My son has a friend who worked at Starbucks while he was in school, and they did receive a free pound of coffee per week. And yes, Greg and some of his co-workers had theirs sent to troops quite often.

Similar to those E Mails warning about various Viruses etc, you find that they have been going for some time, just someone "reinvents" them?
