Iain do you know if it is the full Manawatu band or just the two guys who live in London? Only ask as they were meant to be playing at a remembrance concert in Bexhill-on-Sea, I thought it was the whole band as it was advertised as "The Manawatu Pipers" if I can remeber rightly, turns out it was two of them from London and worse than that they pulled out the night before leaving the organizer in a hole, my lads jumped in and put on a "show" for the old timers that where there, just a warning to other "Old Timers" in case they make the journey...

Says one of the worlds top 10 bands........bands being the key word m8, who knows £7 is a bit cheap though ............hence the post fer a certain oul timer.

Thanks for the info Iain, although it is cheap night out as you say, the fact that I would have a 2 hour drive to get there etc, sort of puts me off a wee bit and following on Ian's revelations? it makes me think?, however I will get in touch with the sec of the Welsh Piping Society, and check things out? I might just have a go

The price is good, even if they aren't there, but a can't see 'em advertising the band 'n it not being so.
Poor publicity fer all concerned.

According to the secretary, they have been told that Manawatu will be there thats all he could say, so looks like it is suck it and see?

	Please note the Manawtu concert is to take place on the 28th Mar 2009 in Cardiff as posted. Venue, St Johns Church, Cardiff city centre, opposite the St Davids centre. The Manawatu element will be made up from those already in the UK. No one from NZ is coming so they may not necessarily know about it. Start time will be 4.30pm. I am part of the organizing group. The main purpose is to try and raise some cash in order that the whole band can attend the Worlds in Glasgow this year. Coning people into what they believe is going to be the Manawatu pipe band, instead it'll be a few fringe members...........shame on the sheep shaggers.

Run a fookin' ballot or such like, even a bloody dance night.

To say one of the top bands in the world ( well, they ain't that good, but still a good band ) are going to perform is a clear case of fraud 'n misleading the people to attend this scam.

I was wonder, as They lost sponsorship for the worlds trip last year and didnt get, seemed strange tha they could come twice this year./

A pity though, they are a pretty good outfit
