Grade1 Withdrawals ( Banbridge )

This has been brought to my attention via a very reliable and trustworthy friend ( no names mentioned for obvious reasons )

ALL POLICE BANDS FROM SCOTLAND WILL BE WITHDRAWN FROM THE MAJOR IN N.IRELAND THIS YEAR DUE TO THE RECENT RIRA/CIRA ACTIVITY.

The other bands from England I can't comment on, but this would also include the R.A.F contingent and Army/T.A bands in my thinking?

Yeah, I've been hearing that a lot over here as well seems a bit like scare mongering but I guess if the Force's say no then the bands dont really have a option... Pretty poor considering you have 4 Police bands in Grade 1, which is already a pretty small grade...

Yip, it also leaves the door open for the lesser grade1 bands a chance at silverware.

If this did happen some bands could sneak an automatic worlds final place, that might mean less places up for grabs in qualifying heat.

Yeah, that's another aspect too. Bloody shambles, if all the bands took that step it would be a farce eh?.

There were never any repercussions even in the darkest days.

How did the R.U.C.P.B cope?

Just on another note, looks like the P.S.N.I will be competing.........good on yiz lads.

Last i heard Falloon had quit them cause he didn't think they would be good enough.

was at the L&B branch meeting on sunday and the PSNI was stated as still to let the RSPBA know who band members were and have not done so - so when they go out as they have continued to pay the subs they will be recognised as a G1 band- is this the case ???
