Scott Currie resigns from Strathclyde Police

Heard about this yesterday. It is a shock to say the least but good luck to the band it will be a shame to see a band that has been around for years disappear. Although talking to a few band members they seem to think this is their last season.

That's the start a it..........." what da fook's the use?, da hell wi this " syndrome has started.

Ad love da get those two clowns 'n roll Robbie's bootin's all inda one 'n give that bitch in particular the royal order a the steel toe cap.

I find this so sad, that a great "institution of the piping world" has come to this, as you say Iain this is just the start I feel of the collapse, what next?

Agreed Dai,

Every great institution has its day, be it pipe bands, football teams to the world political stage.

Great countries Rise and fall, the Sumerians, the Egyptians, the Huns, the Goths, the Francs, whomever. They all come and go

Same all over and in everything, and the one common root seems to be Money, lack of money in a country can and has caused revolution, lack of money in a football team can cause it to fail,

With SPPB, its money again, but more indirectly. And as we know, theres not much money to be made in the pipe band world

On another note, it is good to see someone who is willing to take a moral stand, and I would hope he finds another band PDQ

I spoke to a police piper yesterday after their awesome performance, and it transpires that the bitch from hell is only firing the shots! She is actualley doing the chiefs dirty work as he cant be seen to be doing anything to comprimsie the band as the council want it left alone and to continue to grow from strength to strength. He also told me that the week before the majors the players have had their shifts sorted so its very very difficult to have a practise!!!!!!
